Batch Results

Every run of NUDE cacao is a numbered batch, tested by an independent third-party lab, with its results published here in plain English. No batch page, no bar. This is the receipts drawer; it opens with Batch 001.

Batch 001 · The Founding Batch

  • Status: Open.
  • Origin: Single origin: Long Lanuk, Borneo.
  • Process: Stone-ground in Bali. Whole cacao: butter and matrix intact, nothing pressed out.
  • Tasting notes: Roasted almond nuttiness, earthy depth, deep cacao, very low acidity, and a low, rounded bitterness. It is 100% cacao, so it is unsweetened.
  • Polyphenols: 890mg total polyphenols per 20g serving, by batch analysis.*
  • Composition per 20g serving (batch-tested): energy 100 kcal · caffeine ~51mg · theobromine ~156mg · magnesium 58mg (15% DV) · fibre ~3.4g.
  • Format: 200g scored bar, in 20g pieces. Shelf life 24 months, ambient.

*Measured as gallic acid equivalents (GAE) using the Folin method. Naturally occurring levels vary by batch.

Testing summary

Batch 001 was screened by an independent third-party lab. Reported as not detected: screened pesticide residues; glyphosate and glufosinate; aflatoxins and Ochratoxin A. Salmonella: negative. Heavy metals are tested every batch; the full measured results are available on request rather than reduced to a marketing label. Composition (polyphenols, caffeine, theobromine, minerals) and microbiological safety were analysed alongside. How batch testing works here

  1. Each production run gets a batch number before it gets a name.
  2. An independent lab tests composition and screens for heavy metals, mycotoxins, and pesticides, plus microbiological safety.
  3. The batch page goes up with the results summary, and stays up, sold out or not.

What happens when Batch 001 is gone

Batch 002 begins: new run, new testing, new notes, new page. Single-origin food varies a little from harvest to harvest; the batch pages are where you watch that honestly instead of being promised sameness.
